With Monday's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony coming up fast, the 2023 Induction Class was in Toronto to be honoured before Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 2023 Hall of Famers include The Sedin Twins, Daniel and Henrik, Herb Carnegie, Roberto Luongo and long-time Ottawa Senator, Daniel Alfredsson.

The inductees were asked during the 1st intermission who they're most excited to be in the Hall of Fame with and Alfredsson's answer was not only shocking to Leafs fans but may not be received too well by the Ottawa Senators' fanbase.

Alfredsson had plenty of legendary Senators who he could have named - many of whom he actually played with. He could have chosen legends, such as Art Ross, Jack Adams or King Clancy. He could have chosen former teammates Dominik Hasek or Marian Hossa. Who did he choose? Leafs legend Mats Sundin.

With Alfredsson being entrenched in an ultra-competitive and very fiery Battle of Ontario for the vast majority of his career, you'd have probably assumed that there was some deep-seeded hate there. Perhaps there is, but it certainly didn't prevent him from selecting a Leafs legend in Sundin as the guy he's most excited to join in the Hall of Fame.

Granted, Sundin being his fellow countryman, the two have played plenty together for Tre Kronor during international play - including winning a gold medal together at the Turin Olympics back in 2006.
