Devils fans litter the ice and Leafs' bench with trash and beverages after third disallowed goal
It might be a first in the NHL but tonight the Devils have had three goals called back for various reasons. The first and second were for interfering with Matt Murray as he was trying to make a save and get back to his net. The third was ruled no goal as the puck was kicked into the net.
Following the third disallowed goal, Devils fans began throwing things on the ice and onto the Leafs' bench. The littering forced the Leafs to leave their bench and wait in the tunnel until things calmed down.
The frustration from Devils fans is understandable, but throwing things on the ice and at the Leafs in the middle of a game is classless and unacceptable.
Devils fans didn't stop there, though, as once the final buzzer had gone and the Leafs had secured the 2-1 victory, they began tossing items at the Leafs' players as they celebrated their win and skated off the ice.
