TSN's Bob MacKenzie has an extensive record dating back 15 years regarding his draft rankings. Each of the past 15 years he has correctly picked the prospect going first overall. Now, some of those were guaranteed months or even years in advance, but nonetheless it is still an impressive streak.

Late last month, MacKenzie unveiled his final 2022 draft rankings shocking many when he ranked Juraj Slafkovsky at number 1 ahead of Shane Wright who had held the top spot for at least the past 18 months. The Habs have been quiet about who they would be selecting at number 1. However, prospect Juraj Slafkovsky said this morning that he will be meeting with the Habs tomorrow on the first day of the draft.

Did Slafkovsky accidentally and inadvertently leak that the Habs will be selecting him first overall tomorrow night? It's very possible. It's also possible that the Habs just want to meet with the top 3 picks one last time before making their decision.

The Slovak winger would fit in on the Habs' top line next to Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki and add some much needed size to their line. The draft is less than 36 hours away so we will know soon enough if the Habs are taking Wright or Slafkovsky.
