Maple Leafs Insider 2022 NHL Mock Draft: 1st round
On the eve of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, there is plenty to be excited about if you're a hockey fan. Not only are we about to welcome the next crop of stars into the NHL, but there should be some exciting trades happening between now and the draft tomorrow night.
We have done several projections as to who the Leafs may target in the draft with the 25th pick (assuming they keep it) and have landed on the names Rutger McGroarty, Owen Beck, Noah Ostlund, Ivan Miroshnichenko, Jiri Kulich, Owen Pickering, Tristan Luneau and even a potential slide for Brad Lambert. What we have not yet done is a full 1st round mock draft, so let's do it!
For the purpose of this mock draft, I'm going to list the picks (1st through 32nd overall) according to the teams that CURRENTLY own that pick, rather than attempting to predict draft pick trades and where picks may end up, which is really anyone's guess at this point.
