On game day, the Leafs' social media tweeted out the game time as they normally do. On this occasion though, they had a reply from a particular fan - Kyle Dubas' grandmother. Also known as Gramma Dubie, she replied just asking the team to get it together and get a win.
Everyone loves Gramma Dubie, but not everyone likes her grandson Kyle Dubas. One fan took it much too far though and posted a two minute video in a reply to Gramma Dubie's tweet. In the video, the man calls Kyle Dubas incompetent and said signing Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and John Tavares to contracts with cap hits over $10M was his biggest mistake.
Of course, he then had to expose his understanding of the game by saying that each of Matthews, Tavares and Marner should have been signed for "no more than $4M per season cap hit," so that the Leafs would have more money to round out the roster. Not sure what fantasy land he lives in, but that was never ever going to happen.
It's really too bad that this fan has nothing better to do than to respond to a woman in her late 80's because her grandson couldn't sign 3 of the best players in the game at the cost of a middle of the road middle six player.
