EA NHL 23 cover athletes announced; Canadian women's hockey icon makes history
The EA NHL franchise is a staple in sports gaming and every single year, fans eagerly await the announcement regarding which player will grace the cover. Per ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, this year, we'll have two cover athletes. One of them has made history in the process.
Wyshynski revealed on Twitter on Wednesday that Anaheim Ducks superstar center
Trevor Zegras will grace the cover of the EA NHL 2023, but he won't be alone, as a Canadian women's hockey icon will join him.
Sarah Nurse, cousin of Edmonton Oilers star defenseman
Darnell Nurse, is an IIHF Women's World Hockey Championship gold medalist and bronze medalist (2021 and 2019, respectfully). She also won an Olympic gold medal with Canada in Beijing this year and won a silver medal in the 2018 Olympic Games as well.
Nurse makes history as the first woman to ever grace the cover of a game within the EA NHL franchise. Congrats to two very deserving cover athletes.

Honestly, Zegras is a solid choice, even though he hasn't been in the league very long. A lot of kids look up to Zegras as one of the brightest young innovators in the game.
