Essentially, Gibson is not going anywhere unless the Ducks get an offer that knocks their socks off, so to speak. Friedman did mention that until Gibson and Verbeek have a conversation about the direction of the club, nothing will be confirmed or set in stone. With 5 years left on his current deal, a modified no-trade clause and a cap hit of $6.4M, not only does Gibson have to give the "okay" for a trade to a team on his no-trade list but whatever team acquires him would more likely than not have to clear significant cap space to make his contract fit.
Gibson's availability will something to keep an eye on leading up to free agency and beyond, as teams that miss out on free agent goalies could look to the Ducks to bolster their roster in that position through trade.
