Evander Kane purposefully crops teammate out of photos of a group trip
There's nothing like some good old fashioned team bonding to start a season off on the right foot. The Leafs are a very tight-knit group. We know this. We've heard the players (past and present) speak on it on a number of occasions and we've seen the social media posts of the golf rounds, the group travel and even the way the players interact with each other on social media.
Well, not all teams are so tight-knit. The Edmonton Oilers, for example, may have a problem of not having all of their players on the same page. Here's "Exhibit A".
The photos below seem pretty typical, no? Just a few teammates out on what we can assume is a charter boat, fishing for sturgeon.
Well, I'm not sure of the reason, but it appears as though Oilers star winger Evander Kane actually cropped a teammate out of the photos - winger Jake Virtanen, who is currently with the Oilers on a PTO.
Granted, we can't know for sure if there is a rift in the locker room. Perhaps Kane didn't want his comments section and inbox filled with comments about Virtanen and his shady past. Either way, Kane went out of his way to crop Virtanen out of the photos, so there's certainly something to the idea that he wasn't too happy to be seen with his (temporary?) teammate.
