Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov had a hand in helping the Caps secure a 4-3 shootout win over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, setting up Ovechkin for the game-tying goal and then burying a goal in a very bizarre shootout attempt, with Ovechkin securing the win on his shot attempt.

There are a bevy of shootout tricks that players use to try to create an advantage for themselves against a goaltender in the one-on-one battle. Some players try to get the goalie to bite on a fake before they shoot, some attempt to get the goalie moving one way or the other before tucking it in the open net, and some players even change speeds to try to fool the netminder.
What Kuznetsov did to get one over on Dustin Tokarski was strange to say the least.

Kuznetsov looked almost like his controller disconnected for a few seconds, before finally reconnecting in time to pull off a quick fake and fire the puck in low blocker on Tokarski.
I'm not a fan of the shootout, personally, but I do enjoy the rare bizarre tactic paying off.
