The Toronto Maple Leafs are an enigma yet again, currently sitting 7th in the overall NHL standings, but dealing with some very concerning issues in net since early December. With Jack Campbell allowing 5 goals against the Vancouver Canucks last night, the Leafs actually sit last in the NHL in save percentage since January 9th.

The Leafs need a save. That's the bottom line - and at this point, neither one of their netminders seems to be able to give them one. This week, the Leafs entered a 6-game stretch against Buffalo, Vancouver, Columbus, Seattle, Arizona and will end it off with a Heritage Classic matchup against the Buffalo Sabres in Hamilton at Tim Hortons Field on Sunday, March 13th. This should have been a 6-0 run, but unfortunately, due to porous defense and subpar goaltending, the Leafs have started off this run of games 0-2.

For the most part, there has been a lot of support for Jack Campbell throughout his rough stretch, likely due to the fact that he had provided the Leafs with Vezina-caliber goaltending for the first two months of the season. Now, however, the fanbase is beginning to turn on Campbell - who is a pending UFA - and it's not pretty.

Following his team's 6-4 loss to Vancouver on Saturday, Campbell's Instagram account has been flooded with several negative messages from unruly Leafs fans.

Hopefully Soupy has been avoiding social media as he works his way through these mental struggles. For a goaltender who needs confidence to succeed, reading these comments certainly will not help the 30-year-old netminder to regain his form.

With approximately two weeks remaining until the trade deadline, it will be interesting to see whether or not Leafs GM Kyle Dubas makes a move to acquire a goaltender. If we take him at his word on Friday, Dubas believes that his goalies will figure things out and had stated that he would prefer to go after a defenseman at the deadline. Perhaps with a defender who can move out some bodies in front of the net, the goaltending issues may improve on their own. We'll just have to wait and see.
