Fleury finished this season with a record of 28-22-5, with 4 shutouts. Those 4 shutouts we're earned on a Chicago Blackhawks team, that are appeared very weak defensively. Despite his age Fleury can clearly still carry his weight on the ice, plus his championship status certainly adds to his résumé. It's also worth mentioning the Leafs were connected to Fleury at the trade deadline.
Fleury may not necessarily be the goalie he used to be when he won three cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins but his competitive edge and desire to win is something the Buds need. He would definitely give the Leafs a goalie they can rely on for 50+ games, plus add to the killer instinct they need if they want to end their Stanley Cup drought.
