Ottawa Senators winger Connor Brown is nothing if not focused and determined. That's why, when he suffered an injury in warmups on Thursday, the thought of sitting out against the Calgary Flames hadn't even crossed his mind.

Brown, 28, was warming up with his team in Calgary on Thursday when teammate Thomas Chabot fired a puck that ricocheted off the crossbar and struck Brown in the face. While it stung, Brown shook it off and went on to play the game, recording two points (1G, 1A) in 19:28 of ice time. What the former 6th round pick (2012 by the Leafs) didn't know at the time was that the puck that hit him had broken his jaw.

Sens head coach DJ Smith confirmed the news on Friday, also stating that Brown would be sidelined week-to-week as a result. This loss is a tough one for the Sens, as Brown is one of the locker room leaders in Ottawa.

Brown is the Senators' 4th-leading scorer this season, having registered 5 goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 26 games. He also averages almost 20 minutes of ice time per game, which is 3rd among skaters on the team, behind only defensemen Thomas Chabot and Artem Zub.
