It was an eventful and must win game for the Golden Knights when they took on the Sharks Sunday night. The Knights were in must win mode as they are trying to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Despite outshooting the Sharks 46-29, Vegas ended up blowing a 4-2 lead and lost in the shootout 5-4.

It was a vintage performance for former Leaf, James Reimer. Reimer built on his productive season tonight by stealing a game for the Sharks, something he did for years in Toronto, stopping 42 shots, including this beauty.

Now, the Golden Knights are on the verge of missing the playoffs. The Dallas Stars magic number is down to 1 and can clinch a playoff spot if they beat Vegas Tuesday night. Pretty much the entire NHL had been cheering for the Sharks to beat the Golden Knights to push them to the brink of being eliminated from playoff contention, so there were a lot of campy campers and Reimer supporters to be found on Sunday.

Reimer has quietly had a strong season for an otherwise weak Sharks team, posting a 19-17-9 record with a .913 save percentage and a 2.85 GAA across 47 appearances this season.
