Former Leaf drops the gloves and gets demolished by Pens' Josh Archibald
With just under 3 minutes to go in the second period and the Penguins up 2-0 over Washington, Josh Archibald and former Leaf Rasmus Sandin decided to drop the gloves. It was only Sandin's second NHL fight with his first coming back in November and, well, it showed.
Sandin managed to throw all of two punches while Archibald landed about six with ease before rag-dolling Sandin to the ice. Sandin bit off way more than he could chew in this fight and for no real reason either.
There wasn't a dirty hit or play that lead to the fight, so it would appear that Archibald got under Sandin's skin with either a few words or some quick shots behind the play. It was either that or Sandin was simply trying to spark a comeback for the Caps. Unfortunately, his club fell short, dropping a 4-3 decision.
