Nylander came away from the Global Series with a total of 5 points, bringing his production up to 27 points in 17 games on the season. Obviously, we all know that he's in a contract year and that how he performs this season will influence how contract talks go quite heavily. However, with who he's being compared to right now, the number may end up being bigger than anyone had previously expected.
If Nylander's ask is $11.25M per season, there's still no guarantee that he gets it. However, if we're going purely based off the numbers right now, Nylander and Pastrnak are deadlocked with 27 points apiece this season. Granted, there's a lot of runway between now and the end of the season, so we'll see where both player end up, but if Nylander is gunning for the Pastrnak contract on his next deal, he's certainly proving right now that he's well worth it.
