The Carolina Hurricanes may find themselves with some goaltending issues just a couple of weeks out from the start of the postseason, as former Leaf Frederik Andersen left Saturday's game with an apparent leg injury.

The play occurred when Andersen, was moving laterally from right to left and lost an edge, appearing to tweak something in his left leg. He needed to be helped off the ice as a result.

Talk about bad timing. The Hurricanes appear poised to draw one of the Boston Bruins or the Tampa Bay Lightning in round one of the playoffs. Neither is an easy out - especially if you are coming into a series with either team without your starting goaltender.

Per TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Andersen will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage, but as of this point, the 32-year-old is out indefinitely with what the Canes are calling a lower-body injury.

Andersen joined the Hurricanes this summer as an unrestricted free agent after playing 5 seasons for the Leafs. The Great Dane has enjoyed a bounce back campaign with his new club, posting a 35-14-3 record across 52 appearances this season to go along with a 2.17 GAA and a .922 SV%.
