During the first period in Thursday's game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre, the Habs were engaged in a net-front scrum, when a puck appeared to get loose and find Mike Hoffman for the game-tying goal.
Upon closer inspection, the puck did not squeak loose - it was gloved back to Hoffman by teammate Brendan Gallagher, which is a glove pass. Surely, that goal was coming back. The Habs knew it, the broadcast team knew it, the Flyers knew it.. You know who didn't know it? The NHL officials.
What an embarrassing display of ineptitude by the officials. A simple review of the play would have shown what he could all see in the video above. If something like this happens in the playoffs, all hell is going to break loose.
