Habs welcome Carey Price back by giving up a horrendous 3-on-0
After missing the entire 2021-22 season to date, the Montreal Canadiens welcomed Carey Price back to the lineup against the New York Islanders on Friday. Price had been sidelined to start the year after undergoing offseason knee surgery, followed by a stint in the NHL's player assistance program.
Unfortunately, it was not the type of welcome back to the Bell Centre that Price was expecting, as the Habs were blanked at home 3-0 by the Isles. The game remained close through two periods, but an early third period giveaway resulted in a rare 3-on-0 opportunity for the Isles, with veteran Zach Parise making no mistake to finish off the play.
You can't leave your goalie any more high and dry that that. To Price's credit, he handled the situation well, not allowing his emotions to show after the play, despite the scenario being a goalie's worst nightmare.
