Sheldon Keefe said after practice today that Kase is feeling well, and that he was trying to get back into the game on Saturday. Now, we've seen players in Kase's situation try to re-enter games. John Tavares tried to pick himself up off the ice during Game 1 of the Leafs/Habs series, but he certainly was not in any condition to continue playing, even after he had some time to regain his faculties. Obviously, the two situations are much different, but the fact remains that a player is never the best judge of what is the safest bet - especially if they're competitive by nature.
What is encouraging is that Kase is feeling well. He will obviously require further tests, and the Leafs medical staff will be very cautious with him, but knowing he isn't suffering from side effects is a good thing.
As of right now, there is no timeline for Kase's return to the Leafs lineup and no rush to get him in. The Leafs have enough forward depth to get by without him for now. We all hope Kase's recovery goes well and that we see him in the blue and white come playoff time.
