Last night while the Bruins were playing the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edwards decided to "fat shame" 3-time Stanley Cup Champion Pat Maroon, saying "Listed at 238 pounds. That was day 1 of training camp, I got a feeling he's had a few more pizzas between then and now."
The comments were completely unnecessary and many people in the hockey world took notice including Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli who took to Twitter and called Edwards a "blow-hard broadcaster" for "fat-shaming a professional athlete and Stanley Cup Champion. Pat Maroon doesn't deserve that, no one does. Go home, Jack, you actually sound drunk."
Not only did Seravalli rip into Edwards' comments, but very outspoken and sometimes controversial player agent Allen Walsh also had some criticism for Edwards calling it a "disgrace the way he gets off attacking players for things that have nothing to do with how they play hockey."
If the past has taught us anything about Edwards' it's that he seldomly apologizes for what he says during a broadcast and because he hasn't faced any consequences from his employer for any of his incidents, it's no surprise that he doesn't feel remorse for them and likely will continue that trend.
