There are just four weeks and change remaining until the NHL's March 3rd trade deadline and it would appear as though the clock is ticking for a former Leaf to be dealt. A former fifth overall selection by the Leafs, Luke Schenn is almost certainly going to be traded by the trade deadline. Teams are looking to bolster their bluelines and Schenn's playoff experience, including his 2 Stanley Cups, is highly valued by teams looking to make a long run.

Frank Seravalli was on Sportsnet 650 on Tuesday and reported that Schenn and his wife are expecting a baby in the coming weeks. The Schenns would prefer to be in their new city before the baby is born and while Luke's wife is still able to fly.

With a cap hit of just 850K for the season, Schenn's contract is easily movable and a number of teams have reportedly shown interest in the NHL's all-time hits leader for defensemen. That includes the possibility of a reunion with either Tampa Bay or Toronto.

After trading Bo Horvat on Monday, it's clear the Canucks have been working the phones already, so we should not be surprised to see Schenn dealt in the coming days.
