Those sentiments were essentially echoed by the TSN OverDrive crew on Wednesday. They also had TSN's Darren Dreger on the show to discuss what he has heard about not only Muzzin's status going forward, but also, what the temperature was like in the trade market for Muzz this summer.
Dreger revealed that, per his sources, this latest injury is one that is expected to keep Muzzin out for a very, very long time. No timeline was discussed or revealed, but just the tone in Dreger's voice suggested that it could be one of those month-to-month type injuries more so than it is a week-to-week type thing. And then there were the comments made by Mitch Marner earlier on Wednesday as well that add another layer of concern to the subject. The way Marner was talking, it seemed as though Muzzin could even miss the remainder of the season, which would be an enormous loss for the club, without a doubt.
Dregs also pointed out that the trade market is completely cold on Muzzin because of his recent injury history - most notably, the two concussions that he suffered just a few weeks apart early on in 2022. If his current injury, which has been reported as a neck injury, is actually another concussion, that would mark 3 concussions within one year. That's not only alarming, but very scary as well.
