While the focus of players, front-offices and fans are on how their favorite teams and players are performing in 2022-23, the NHL All-Star game is only two months away, set to take place on February 4th in Sunrise, Florida. The NHL All-Star game is a tradition that started back in 1947, where it was played in Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Toronto has been the host city eight times in total, and now, according to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman, the All-Star game could be coming to Canada soon, with Toronto looking to make a serious bid to host for the ninth time.

It would be great to see an All-Star game in Canada in this era. It would be the first since Montreal hosted in 2009, and obviously it would be even better for Leafs Nation if Toronto was selected as the host city. Imagine the fans, the atmosphere and the big budget event itself.

While there is a lot of debate amongst fans regarding how important the All-Star game is and whether or not it is worth the time for the players and the teams, it is great for younger fans to watch all of the star players in one game. With the skills competitions and the players being able to bring their families, there is a lot to enjoy from their perspective as well.

If Toronto does land the 2024 All-Star Game, it will be the first time since 2000 that the ASG took place in Ontario's capital city.
