Seravalli identified 5 targets who could make sense for the Leafs via trade. The names on his list are Joonas Korpisalo (CBJ), James Reimer (SJS), Jonathan Quick (LAK), Dan Vladar (CGY), Anton Khudobin (DAL).
Of these names, the one who might tickle Leafs fans heart strings the most is veteran James Reimer, who is a pending UFA, earning $2.25M this season. Reimer has a respectible .910 SV% and a 2.88 GAA across 9 games played for a Sharks team who sits in the bottom 5 of the league and dead last in the Pacific Division.
Aside from Reimer, the other name who might entice the Leafs the most would be Calgary's Dan Vladar. The Flames currently have Jacob Markstrom eating up the vast majority of the starts. They have another NHL option in Oscar Dansk, who has played 6 NHL games for the Vegas Golden Knights in recent seasons, who could potentially step in to back up Markstrom. They also have 21-year-old Dustin Wolf patiently waiting for his opportunity in the AHL, though he may still be a little green behind the ears and likely requires a little more seasoning.
In Vladar, the Leafs could potentially land another possible option, much like Ilya Samsonov, who has the potential to be a starting goaltender in the NHL but who hasn't quite had the right opportunity to prove himself as a bona-fide number one.
None of these goaltenders would break the bank for the Leafs in terms of acquisition cost, but a few of them, such as LA's Jonathan Quick, would certainly require some salary retention if there is a deal to be made.
