Jake Muzzin injured during first period of his preseason debut
With the injury riddled seasons we've seen from Jake Muzzin lately, any time he heads down the tunnel it's cause for concern. Muzzin went down on the ice during the first period of Saturday's pre-season game against the Red Wings. He skated off slowly and appeared to be bleeding from the face.
At this point we don't have an official update from the Leafs, just what was seen on the broadcast. A closer look revealed significant damage to Muzzin's mouth, he may or may not have lost some teeth on the play. There appeared to be a lot of blood.
***Update - Muzzin has returned to the game in the 2nd period. For all intents and purposes, it appears as though the crisis has been averted***
