Leafs announce a significant number of roster cuts, place two on waivers

After the morning skate on Saturday, the Leafs announced their largest wave of cuts since training camp began. The following players have been assigned to the Marlies:

F Nick Abruzzese, F Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, G Dylan Ferguson, G Erik Källgren, D Mikko Kokkonen, F Bobby McMann, D Marshall Rifai, F Alex Steeves.

In addition, the Buds placed two players on waivers for the purpose of assigning them to the Marlies as well. Those two players are Joey Anderson and blueliner Mac Hollowell.

The cuts bode well for Nick Robertson's chances of making the opening night roster, as he is also not skating tonight after putting up 8 points in 5 games already during the exhibition season. The Leafs still have a few more cuts to make, which should be made Sunday to ensure that the team is cap compliant come Monday.
