If the Leafs didn't have bad luck they wouldn't have any luck at all. Just days after losing Matt Murray to a groin injury, Jake Muzzin may be joining the injured list. During the second period of an embarrassing effort against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night, Muzzin collided with Yotes winger Clayton Keller. Muzz was slow to get up, and left the game shortly afterwards.
The Leafs announced at the start of the third period that Muzzin would not be returning to the game. The only potential good news is that the Leafs listed it as a neck injury and not a head injury. The fear with Muzzin is another concussion, so as concerning as a neck injury seems, it's better than the alternative.
The Leafs are known for being exceedingly cautious with potential head or neck injuries. So hopefully this is just being done out of an abundance of caution.
