Jamie Benn and Pat Maroon square off in some heavyweight pre-season fisticuffs
Everyone who has followed the league for any length of time knows just how tough both Jamie Benn and Pat Maroon are. Both veteran forwards have gone to battle for their respective teams a number of times, never afraid to drop the gloves and dispense some on-ice justice when needed.
On Saturday, during the Stars and Wild's pre-season finale, with the Stars down 4-0 to the Wild, Benn and Maroon met at center ice in the third period, proceeding to drop their gloves and tee off on one another for nearly 40 seconds. It was quite the scrap!
Maroon appeared to be the aggressor during most of the fight, but credit to Benn, who stood toe to toe with the larger Maroon, who has almost 30 pounds on the Stars captain. Benn measures in at 6'2, 205 lbs, while Maroon stands 6'3 and weighs 234 lbs - a true battle of the heavyweights.
