Thursday night's Canes/Leafs game was a highly competitive game with a lot of playoff undertones to it. The Buds skated away with a 3-2 victory, and the game was also the scene of a very funny moment between Jason Spezza and one of the officials.

During a Leafs line change in the contest, forward Jason Spezza was attempting to get off the ice to avoid the Leafs taking a too many men penalty, but the issue was, there was a referee in the way.

Spezza did the only thing he could think of, he brought the official onto the Leafs' bench before the play was blown down.

At first, it appeared as though the Leafs were going to be assessed a too many men penalty anyway, but the discussion that had occurred amongst the officials after the humorous event actually related to where the faceoff would take place and not whether or not a penalty should be assessed.

The funniest thing about this incident is that Spezza, being the gentleman that he is, didn't even shove the official or use any real force to get him in there. If you watch closely, it almost looks like he lifts him up like a child and places him among the players gently.

Too funny.
