Sunday's Habs/Bruins game in Montreal marked the first game at the Bell Centre following the loss of Habs legend Guy Lafleur. While the Habs were undoubtedly hoping to pull off a huge upset win over the B's after honouring Lafleur in a beautiful pre-game ceremony, unfortunately, they couldn't make it happen, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Bruins.

As you can imagine, it was a heated battle and there was no shortage of physical play to speak of. Perhaps the hardest hit in the game came near the end of the first period after Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron was rocked by Habs defenseman Jeff Petry. Brad Marchand didn't like the hit and went right after Petry.

Bergeron would be okay following the hit, and did not look any worse for the wear, notching 3 points on the evening. Marchand drew a minor penalty for roughing.

The hit on Bergeron was a beauty. A clean shoulder check that seemed to just catch Bergeron by surprise. Thankfully the officials got the call right this time and sent only Marchand to the box. As much as Marchy didn't like the hit, Petry should not have been obligated to scrap after that one.
