Jonathan Toews stands up for teammate, drops the gloves with Ottawa's Zach Sanford
An unlikely combatant came to the aid of a teammate on Saturday as Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews dropped the gloves with Ottawa Senators forward Zach Sanford after Sanford levelled young Kirby Dach in the neutral zone.
Toews may not have won the fight, but he certainly has the respect of his teammates, Dach in particular.
This occurred approximately 6 minutes after Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy left the game on a stretcher. Certainly a rough clash between two frustrated non-playoff teams in Ottawa on Saturday.
