Josh Manson to the Leafs just got a whole lot more complicated
There has been a lot of chatter around Leafs Nation over the past few weeks about the possibility that the Toronto Maple Leafs could pursue pending UFA Josh Manson at the trade deadline as a rental for the playoffs. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, that process just got a little more complicated.
Per Friedman, during the most recent edition of 32 Thoughts, Manson owns a 12-team no-trade list and it is believed that, as of this moment, the Leafs are one of the teams that Manson has the ability to block a trade to.
«Somebody told me that TOR is on Manson's no trade list," Friedman stated. "That doesn't mean that it can't happen, that just means you have to if you really wanna do it, you've gotta work it a bit.»
Manson, a grizzled veteran, right-shot defenseman could check a lot of boxes for Leafs GM Kyle Dubas, but the fact that there's no guarantee that Manson would even waive his NTC to accept a deal to Toronto, maybe the Leafs GM is better served focusing his attention elsewhere and trying to check those boxes in another way.
