Junior hockey coach drops one of the most entertaining quotes of all time at the Memorial Cup Playoffs
The Memorial Cup, the Canadian Hockey League's national championship is taking place this week in Saint John, New Brunswick. Yesterday, the host Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Shawinigan Cataractes in a thrilling comeback win that saw them erase a 3-0 deficit. The win secured the Sea Dogs first place and a bye to the Championship Final.
Post game, Sea Dogs Head Coach Gardiner MacDougall dropped one of the greatest quotes you will ever hear. In the middle of his speech about the home crowd and how momentum was on the Sea Dogs' side Saturday night his phone rang.
«We all have special ladies in our lives. Our grandmothers, out mothers, our wives, I have a daughter, I have sisters, but the key to success tonight was a lady called Lady 'Mo. Mrs. Lady Momentum. Sometimes she's hard to find. You don't know how long she's going to stay with you. We're lucky tonight that we found her and she stayed with us for a while and full credit to the crowd for introducing 'Mo to our team."
*his phone rings"
*reaches into pocket to hang up*
"That's either 'Mo or the Winnipeg Jets again, sorry.»
Considering MacDougall was hired after the Sea Dogs' regular season ended and these were the first games the team played in more than a month, if the team does win the Memorial Cup, maybe the Winnipeg Jets actually will be calling, as they have yet to fill their vacant head coaching position.
