We all know that Nazem Kadri returned to the Stanley Cup Final well ahead of schedule following surgery on his hand. The injury occurred during game 3 of the Avs' Western Conference Final series against the Edmonton Oilers when he was awkwardly sent into the boards by Evander Kane.

Kadri had surgery the following day and the Avs were quick to shut him down for the rest of their third round series but would not rule him out for the Stanley Cup Final, only listing him as :out indefinitely". 18 days after having surgery, Kadri returned to the Avs' lineup for Game 4 of the Cup final.

On Friday, Kadri revealed that his injury and surgery would have meant an 8 week recovery had it happened during the regular season. The fact he returned after less than 3 weeks is ridiculous, but not uncommon for NHL players during the playoffs. It did not look like Kadri was going to make enough progress to return, as videos that were posted by the media of him skating showed him barely being able to stick handle and shoot a puck when he first return to the ice.

By the end though, Kadri was well enough to hold the Cup above his head in celebration with his Avs teammates.
