Keefe provides update on injured forward
Friday night against Carolina, with less than a minute remaining in the first period, Noel Acciari was on the receiving end of a blindside hit from Hurricanes winger Jesse Puljujarvi. There was no penalty on the play or supplemental discipline. Acciari was slow to get up after taking a few minutes to collect himself.
Acciari did not return to Friday night's game and did not travel with the team to play Ottawa last night. Following a thrilling 5-4 win, Sheldon Keefe provided an update on the status of Acciari. Keefe said that he had a good day on Saturday and that he passed concussion testing.
Keefe also said there is no timetable for his return and they will continue to monitor him day by day. The Leafs will continue their 5-game road trip by heading down to Long Island for a game with the Islanders on Tuesday. It is still unclear as to whether Acciari will travel with the team or not.
