Keefe reveals how he feels about the Leafs' play during the entire month of March
The Leafs ended March with a 7-5-2 record and played with a distinct lack of consistency throughout the month. The Leafs beat top teams in the East, but failed to secure points against lesser teams like Ottawa.
Despite the Leafs' inconsistencies and continuous lineup changes to help the deadline additions adjust, Sheldon Keefe was relatively happy with how the Leafs have played lately.
"I have been really pleased with the process through the last week to two weeks ... we are controlling play really well. That is a sign that things are really coming together."
The Leafs have been more dominant in puck possession over the last few weeks but haven't been able to cash in as consistently on power plays. They have also had defensive breakdowns at times that have led to goals against. The good news is that Auston Matthews is back to being his old self and Ryan O'Reilly is days away from returning to the lineup.
