Day three of free agency has been much quieter than yesterday for the Leafs, largely due to the fact that the team will need to clear some cap space before they can proceed to make any additional deals - and there WILL be additional deals. Treliving made as much clear during his media availability on Monday.

In the last minute of Treliving's media availability on Monday, the Leafs GM touched on the idea of continuing to re-vamp his blueline. He talked about having "long D", meaning some larger bodies, who can cover a lot of ice, be it with their skating or their lengthy sticks. He acknowledged that re-vamping the Leafs' D corps could take some time, but looking at what he's already said to John Klingberg, he may have something else up his sleeve.

While in Calgary, Treliving tried trading T.J. Brodie, then let him walk as a free agent, so he may be a name that'll come up in conversation a lot as the summer goes on, especially with his $5M cap hit in this final year of his deal. There's also some speculation that Treliving may have an interest in looking at trading with his former Flames for someone like Noah Hanifin or Nikita Zadorov, both of whom are rumoured to be available.

It's too early to tell just yet what the Leafs are planning for their blueline, but they're currently $8M over the cap, so they'll have to work on making moves to free up some space before they'll be able to proceed.
