Last month a Leafs legend, Borje Salming, passed away after a hard fought battle with ALS shortly after being able to attend a ceremony honoring 3 of his fellow countrymen being inducted into the Hall of Fame. While he was in town for the Hall of Fame ceremonies, the Leafs also honoured Salming with a touching tribute video during Hockey Night in Canada coverage.

Salming played 16 years with the Buds and 1 year with the Red Wings to finish off his illustrious 17-year career. He tallied 150 goals, 787 points and a whopping 1344 penalty minutes through those 17 years.

Borje became a legend to many Leafs fans and he was known as "The King", eventually earning a spot on Legends Row, just outside of Scotiabank Arena. He paved the way for European players who joined the NHL from across the pond.

Today, he was laid in his final resting place surrounded by his family and a small number of friends in a private ceremony just outside of Stockholm, Sweden. All Leafs fans would very likely agree that it was an honor to have Borje visit Toronto one last time and to celebrate his renowned hockey career and to share some of his final days with the city that he long called his home away from home.

Thank you for everything, Borje. May you forever rest in peace.
