For the Leafs, it's a well-known fact that Mitch Marner is on a 19-game point streak, just having surpassed Leafs legends Darryl Sittler and Eddie Olczyk for the longest point streak in franchise history. Both Sittler and Olczyk made it to 18 games and both were not only complimentary of Marner's incredible run, but both also backed Marner and publicly stated that they hoped he'd break the record and keep the streak going for as long as he could.
For the Stars, they don't get nearly the same level of media coverage, so it's easy to understand why Jason Robertson's 18-game point streak has sort of gone under the radar. Robertson's 18-game point streak has seen him collect a total of 34 points, including an incredible 21 goals. What's even more incredible is the fact that 27 of Robertson's 34 points are primary points.
On the other end, Marner has posted 26 points over his span, 17 of them being primary points, including 9 goals. As consistent as Marner has been and as hot as Robertson's stick has been, I think there's a pretty good chance that we see both streaks continue tonight - hopefully in a losing effort by the Stars. As Leaf fans, we should hope for nothing less!
