Leafs announce first wave of roster cuts
The Leafs have played four preseason games thus far, with three remaining, including a Monday night matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. Surprisingly, the Leafs made it through all four games without announcing their first wave of roster cuts, aside from Ty Voit being returned to his junior team in the OHL. That changes today.
The Leafs have officially announced their first wave of cuts, sending the following players down to the AHL's Toronto Marlies:
F Joseph Blandisi, F Curtis Douglas, F Max Ellis, F Pavel Gogolev, D Matt Hellickson, D Noel Hoefenmayer, D Tommy Miller, D Matteo Pietroniro, F Logan Shaw , F Graham Slaggert.
The Leafs had also announced this past week that an injury brought rookie Fraser Minten's impressive first Leafs camp to a grinding halt. At this point, I don't believe that a formal transaction was made to send him back to Kamloops in the WHL, but if that hasn't happened as of yet, it certainly will.
