While most of last night's roster was players who are expected to be cut at some point in the coming days, there were a few players who are expected to get a longer look in training camp, one of whom is 2022 2nd round pick, Fraser Minten. As a matter of fact, Minten will draw back in tonight for the 2nd game in as many nights against the Habs.
Minten won't be the only player from last night's game roster back in the lineup tonight, as Matthew Knies, Noah Gregor, Pontus Holmberg, Nick Abruzzese, Matteo Pietroniro and Nick Robertson will also be playing again tonight for the Leafs.
The Leafs also have defenseman Simon Benoit drawing in for tonight's game, which will mark his first pre-season appearance for the Buds. Benoit had been sidelined due to back spasms for the first week and a half of training camp, skating with the team in a limited capacity until he returned to 100%. You can see the full lineup for tonight's game below:
I'm sure that there will be plenty of eyes on Easton Cowan again tonight, as the 18-year-old draws back into the lineup after having Friday night off. The Leafs' top pick in 2023 has put on a clinic during training camp, being noticeable each and every time he's been on the ice - and for all of the right reasons.
With tonight's game marking the Leafs' 5th game of the pre-season, they'll only have 3 more pre-season games remaining after tonight, which means that this is likely the last game before the team announces a pretty big wave of cuts, returning players to the AHL and to their various junior teams. It will be interesting to see who ends up sticking around for the final 3 games next week.
