The Leafs have had horrendous injury luck this season, particularly on the blueline. Well, it appears as though that horrendous injury luck continues, as the Buds have not had 23-year-old Timothy Liljegren on the bench since the end of the 2nd period.

The Buds have had to utilize 12 different defensemen at points this season, thanks to injuries to Jake Muzzin, Morgan Rielly, T.J. Brodie, Jordie Benn, Victor Mete, Carl Dahlstrom and now Liljegren. It's also worth noting that Liljegren missed time at the start of the season as he was recovering from offseason surgery to repair a sports hernia.

While the volume of injuries to their blueline has been significant, the Leafs have actually been playing surprisingly solid defensively. One of the brightest of bright spots has been the play of Liljegren, alongside fellow Swede Rasmus Sandin. If he is forced to miss any length of time, he's someone that the Leafs are likely going to miss, since they don't have an abundance of right-shot blueliners with real NHL experience.

Hopefully we'll have some sort of an update following the game.
