This marks at least the second time (that we know about) this summer where a team has actively pursued Carbery, likely do to the fact that he took a middling Leafs powerplay and turned it into the top powerplay in the league last season.
Well, it would appear as though Leafs Nation can breathe a collective sigh of relief as the Sharks are rumoured to be leaning toward David Quinn as their next head coach. Mike Vellucci in Pittsburgh was also believed to have been a finalist, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The Leafs aren't out of the woods yet, as there is still time for another team to show an interest and offer Carbery an interview during the season in the event of an in-season coaching change, but it seems as though it's only a matter of time until Carbery does depart the organization, given the amount of intrigue he's been drawing from GM's from around the NHL.
