Conor Timmins has had an excellent training camp up to this point, including a 4-point game against Buffalo the on Wednesday. He has done everything possible to make the main roster out of camp. His biggest hurdle was going to be his salary and the cap space the Leafs don't have, but with his performance, it appeared all but guaranteed that he had done enough.

Unfortunatelt, in last night's game against the Habs, Timmins suffered an injury in the third period. According to Sheldon Keefe, it is a lower-body injury and he will be "out for some time."

Following practice today, Keefe commented on how big of a loss it was. "Not just the camp he has had, he has worked incredibly hard ... to have a setback is tough news for him and for us."

Timmins will be having an MRI later today to determine how long he will be out, but from the statement from Keefe, it sounds like it will be a significant amount of time. He was also spotted wearing a brace after the game, which is not a good sign.
