Once again, Adam Brooks has been claimed on waivers. This time it was by his hometown Winnipeg Jets. This is the 4th time this season that the former Leaf has been claimed off waivers. Brooks was waived by the Leafs back in October before the start of the season by the Montreal Canadiens. He was then waived by the Habs and picked up by the Vegas Golden Knights, who waived him earlier this week. The Leafs had re-claimed the 25-year-old center on Wednesday only to place him back on waivers on Thursday.

The Jets' center coprs has struggled this season. Adam Lowry has just 9 points in 48 games - while 4th line centre, Dominic Toninato has just 7 points in 43 games. The Jets struggles down the middle could provide Brooks with the opportunity to consistently play in games - something he hasn't had this season with the Leafs, Habs, or the Golden Knights.

The real head-spinner here is why the Jets did not just claim Brooks on Wednesday, as they had waiver priority over the Leafs. Does this not feel like a bitter Jets organization doing something specifically to mess with the Leafs after the Rasmus Sandin/Neal Pionk/Jason Spezza ordeal earlier this season?

Nevertheless, Brooks is off to play in his hometown. Hopefully this is his final stop of what has been quite the journey of a season for the 25-year-old.
