The Leafs take on the Habs tonight in their third pre-season game and likely final one before some cuts are made. Matt Murray will make his Leafs debut tonight as he is slated to play the first two periods, with Erik Kallgren playing the third. Murray's next two starts after tonight are expected to be the full 60 minutes.

With no Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, John Tavares or Michael Bunting tonight, the Leafs will be rolling with some interesting line combinations against the Canadiens. Denis Malgin finds himself on the first line alongside William Nylander and Pontus Holmberg while Nick Robertson will play alongside Alex Kerfoot and Calle Jarnkrok on the team's second line.

The Leafs are dressing six left-handed defensemen tonight. Morgan Rielly will pair up with Jordie Benn, Mark Giordano will form a shutdown pair with TJ Brodie and Carl Dahlstrom and Victor Mete will round out the bottom pairing. Mete and Benn have the inside track on being the Leafs' seventh defenceman which will see one of them in the lineup opening night with Timothy Liljegren's absence.
