The Leafs had a chance to end the Devils' 10-game win-streak last night, only to have another terrible turnover end up in the back of their net, this time off the stick of John Tavares - though Mitch Marner's lazy play to try to one-hand poke the puck past the Devils to spring himself on the break was not the smartest play either. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity to come back from the costly giveaway as it was in overtime and the Leafs handed the Devils their eleventh straight win.

Following the disappointing loss, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe spoke with the media, revealing what he believes to be the reason for his team marking down another L in the books.

"I thought the difference is that we beat ourselves at times and gave them free goals. They didn't beat themselves at all. That's how you win 11 in a row. You don't beat yourself," said Keefe, who was disgusted in the lack of structure and support from the Leafs.

The Leafs lead the league in turnovers with more than 200 already on the season. It's something that will and already has come back to haunt them during the season but will inevitably cost them in the playoffs again. Some of it is due to a bad bounce or bad puck luck, but most of the time, it's the Leafs trying to be too fancy with the puck instead of making the simple, safe play.
