Leafs and Bruins. Hockey Night in Canada. These are the games that the Leafs and their fanbase get up for. The big, bad Bruins have certainly gotten the best of the Buds for much of the last decade, but believe it or not, the Leafs may have an advantage coming into this one.

Over their last 4 meetings, the Leafs have actually beaten the Bruins all 4 times, outscoring their opponent 18-9. The results of those games were as follows:

November 5th, 2022 - Leafs 2, Bruins 1
April 29th, 2022 - Leafs 5, Bruins 2
March 29th, 2022 - Leafs 6, Bruins 4
November 6th, 2021 - Leafs 5, Bruins 2

It is worth mentioning that 3 of these games were home games for the Leafs, with only the Buds' 6-4 win in Boston on March 29th, 2022 being a road win.

It may surprise a lot of fans to learn this, but if you want to find the last game in which the Bruins beat the Leafs, you'd have to go all the way back to November 15th, 2019, when the Bruins beat the Leafs in Toronto by a score of 4-2. For context, that Leafs team still contained the likes of Andreas Johnsson, Kasperi Kapanen, Frederik Gauthier, Trevor Moore and Cody Ceci. It was also one of the last games coached by former Leafs head coach Mike Babcock.

Granted, there was a lengthy COVID break in the NHL schedule and a season in which the 7 Canadian teams only played each other in there, but knowing that the Bruins haven't beaten the Leafs in more than 3 calendar years has to give you some hope for tonight's game, right?
