Leafs ink prospect to 3 year ELC
The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Ty Voit to a 3-year entry level contract. The 18 year old Pittsburgh, PA native was drafted by the Leafs in the 5th round, 153rd overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Voit, currently playing centre for the Sarnia Sting, has exploded in the OHL this season, racking up and impressive 29 points in 24 games matching his output in 49 games last season.
At 5'10 and 161lbs, Voit will need to do some bulking up if he hopes to make the NHL. His game is similar to that of Leafs winger Mitch Marner, using creativity and effective passing to move through opposing defences. If he can continue to grow his game the way he has this season, he could turn into an effective player for the Leafs in the future.
