As the Leafs found out during Monday's trade deadline, Rasmus Sandin will be out week-to-week with a knee injury. It seems he was injured during Saturday's loss to Nashville, although it is unclear as to when during the game the injury occurred.

The Leafs had been awaiting additional test results on Sandin over the past couple of days and, thankfully, it appears that there is no significant structural damage to his knee.

Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe stated after the morning skate on Wednesday that Sandin is able to work out and move around some. Obviously, that is great news for the Leafs, as Sandin has had a very progressive season in his development - most notably the past few weeks where he has become far more comfortable jumping into plays and creating offence. Additionally, he has found a way to play with more physicality in the defensive zone without taking himself out of the developing play.

With 5 weeks left in the regular season, the Leafs hope to have him back to play at least a couple regular season games, as they hope Muzzin will do as well, to get their legs back and into game shape before playoffs.
